Fijo ("we", "us", "our") operates the Fijo mobile application (the "App") and the website at https://fijo.site(collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed), profile photo.
- Service listings: titles, descriptions, categories, photos, coverage area, contact methods you choose to display (phone, WhatsApp, email).
- Reviews and ratingsyou post about other users' services.
- Reports you submit about other listings or users.
- Verification documents (optional): identification documents you voluntarily upload for profile verification.
- Referral codes used during signup.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language, timezone.
- Usage analytics: screens viewed, searches performed, listings viewed, features used. We use a lightweight event-tracking system to understand and improve the app.
- Crash and error reports via Sentry to diagnose and fix stability issues. Crash reports may include stack traces and device state at the time of the crash.
- Push notification token (if you grant notification permission), used solely to deliver notifications from the Service.
- Approximate location (only when you explicitly provide or confirm it) for matching services by area. We do not continuously track your location.
1.3 Information from third parties
- Supabase (our backend provider) stores your account data and content.
- Expo Push Service delivers push notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Match service seekers with providers.
- Send you notifications you have opted into (new reviews, verification status, referral completions, premium expiry reminders).
- Verify identities (when you opt into verification).
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Improve the Service through aggregated usage analytics.
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases (GDPR / similar regimes)
Where applicable, we process personal data on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, product improvement), consent (push notifications, verification, analytics where required), and legal obligations.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:
- With other users: profile name, photo, listings, reviews, and any contact methods you choose to display are visible to other users of the Service.
- Service providers (processors): Supabase (database, auth, storage), Expo (push notifications), Sentry (crash reporting). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
- Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fijo, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case users will be notified.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal profile data and listings within 30 days, except where we are required to retain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (directly from the app's profile settings).
- Delete your account and associated data (from within the app or by emailing privacy@fijo.pa).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent (e.g., revoke notification permission in device settings).

7. Children
Fijo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@fijo.pa and we will delete it.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
9. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously work to protect your data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
