Fijo ("we", "us", "our") operates the Fijo mobile application (the "App") and the website at https://fijo.site(collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data related to the Service, as well as the choices and rights that may be available to you.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a hash), profile photo.
- Service listings: titles, descriptions, categories, photos, coverage area, contact methods you choose to display (phone, WhatsApp, email).
- Reviews and ratingsyou post about other users' services.
- Reports you submit about other listings or users.
- Verification documents (optional): identification documents you voluntarily upload for profile verification.
- Referral codes used during signup.
- Communications with Fijo: support messages, requests, feedback, and any information you send directly to us.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone.
- Usage analytics: screens viewed, searches performed, listings viewed, features used. We use a lightweight event-tracking system to understand and improve the app.
- Crash and error reports via Sentry to diagnose and fix stability issues. Crash reports may include stack traces and device state at the time of the crash.
- Push notification token (if you grant notification permission), used solely to deliver notifications from the Service.
- Approximate location (only when you explicitly provide or confirm it) for matching services by area. We do not continuously track your location.
- Technical logs: IP addresses, access dates and times, internal identifiers, and security events needed to operate, protect, and diagnose the Service.
1.3 Information from third parties
- Supabase (our backend provider) stores your account data and content.
- Expo Push Service delivers push notifications.
- We may receive limited technical information from analytics, security, or support providers when needed to operate the Service or respond to a request.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Match service seekers with providers.
- Create, administer, and protect accounts, profiles, listings, verification, reviews, reports, and support communications.
- Send you notifications you have opted into (new reviews, verification status, referral completions, premium expiration reminders).
- Verify identities (when you opt into verification).
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Improve the Service through aggregated usage analytics.
- Measure Service performance, troubleshoot errors, maintain security, and prevent unauthorized use.
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases and Processing
Where an applicable law requires a basis for processing personal data, we process information, as appropriate, based on performing our relationship with you (providing the Service), your consent (for example, push notifications or optional verification), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and support), and compliance with legal obligations. Where Panama personal data protection rules apply, we aim to process data according to principles of lawfulness, purpose limitation, proportionality, security, transparency, and confidentiality.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:
- With other users: profile name, photo, listings, reviews, and any contact methods you choose to display are visible to other users of the Service. Information you publish in profiles or listings may be viewed, saved, or shared by third parties outside our control.
- Service providers (processors): Supabase (database, auth, storage), Expo (push notifications), Sentry (crash reporting). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
- Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fijo, our users, or the public.
- With your authorization or instruction: when you ask us to share information, enable an integration, or use an external contact method such as WhatsApp, phone call, or email.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case users will be notified.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account, profile, and content while your account is active or as long as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data and listings within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except where we must retain information for legal obligations, dispute resolution, security, technical backups, fraud prevention, or the defense of rights. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until scheduled deletion.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (directly from the app's profile settings).
- Delete your account and associated data (from within the app or by emailing privacy@fijo.pa).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request data portability.
- Withdraw consent (e.g., revoke notification permission in device settings).
- Submit a question or complaint to the competent authority if you believe the processing of your data does not comply with applicable law.

7. Children
Fijo is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors or allow them to use the Service to hire or offer services. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@fijo.pa and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including countries with data protection rules different from those in your jurisdiction. When we transfer or allow access to personal data outside your country, we use reasonable contractual, technical, and organizational measures to protect it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and password hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce risks and respond appropriately to incidents.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
